Part of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season |
Hurricane Julian formed on August 29th near the Cape Verde Islands, before moving out into the tropical Atlantic. The storm intensified into a category 2 hurricane, before hitting the Lesser Antilles with winds of 105 mph, leading to 15 deaths, and $10 million in damages, before moving north and out to sea.
The name of the storm was not retired, as it never did above $1 billion in damages, so it was used again in the 2027 season as a result of this.
